we travel. we experience. we wandr
Wandr is a travel app that curates events, excursions and itinerary results specific to and based on travelers personal interests and travel destinations
THE PROBLEM
Travelers want a meaningful traveling experience but don’t want to put in the time to research for main attractions and events to attend, let alone where to begin their research.
THE SOLUTION
Provide a travel event, booking app that curates content according to the users unique hobbies and interests. Showcasing attractions local to their travel destination will help them book events easier and have peace of mind during their travels.

-
CAMERON
“I want to be notified of the best times to book flights, activities, hotels and when prices are at their lowest. I want the app to inform me of inflation on prices so I can book sooner rather than later.”
-
WHITNEY
“I like apps to save my search information. I also like to be able to save the results and in an easy to find location. This could include flights, hotels, Airbnb’s or even excursions.” If I can’t find it easily, I get super frustrated.”
-
CRYSTAL
“I want to know how I’m going to get around to the various things I want to do. Also having reservations in advance is key; I want to know that I’m going be able to do the things I’ve paid for.”

user insight statement
Users need their travel booking experience to be meaningful, efficient and personally curated based on their interests.
Problem Statement
We’ve observed that users value incorporating personal and meaningful experiences into their trips. How might we provide opportunities to find attractions that align with their interests and travel dates so they can get the most out of the vacations they book with our app?

Kyle
“I would love to have a login/sign up with social media option. I’d also like a ‘Yelp’ review link to show up on event details or restaurant booking options.”
-
Kylie
“I would like to see an option to log in with social media. Booking an event was easy but was also confusing in some places because of certain terminology used.”
-
SAM
“I feel like the app is fairly simple to use, but because there are some unfinished pages, I got stuck in a few places. I’d also like a way to follow others on their travel journeys.
Key Learning Points
Signup was easy- but signing in with social media login options need to be added
Some wanted ‘Face-ID’ login option as well
Some users felt the app was “missing something”
Users would like a method integrated so they could share their travel journey somehow
User also wanted a way to follow other travelers journeys

Final thoughts
I need to take a mindful approach to each and every step in the research process
Don’t get ahead of yourself - i.e. prematurely jumping right into designing
It’s easy to get caught up in the super fine details. Instead - move forward with the bigger picture
Team collaboration is key
Keep it simple and stay open-minded
